INTRODUCTION: After designing and manufacturing the world's first and best plastic racing ski way back in 2000 (consecutive LP1 Class Winner 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007 Avon Descent and current Female Single Surf Ski and LP Class Winner and Record Holder 2008 Avon Descent) SPIRIT Paddle Sports continues to dominate the plastic racing ski market and cement its standing as true pioneers in plastic racing ski development with the introduction of the Performance Racing Series (PRS) Ski's at this years Avon Descent – 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th in the LP1 Class – resetting the benchmark for rotomoulded racing ski's across the planet. Designed, developed and manufactured at SPIRIT's manufacturing facility in Osborne Park, Perth, Western Australia. As ground breaking in engineering techniques as it is for its 5.7m length design featuring a 5.65m water line - ensuring fast action paddling!
Talking SPIRIT PRS Ski's with Mike Baker: The SPIRIT PRS Ski is truly the next development in plastic racing ski's. It is as good as any fibreglass multisport boat on the market and completely obliterates any other plastic. I paddled it for the first time in the 2008 Avon Descent and had my best results ever winning the plastic for the second time on the SPIRIT craft, also claiming an overall 4th position proving this ski's superiority. This Ski is completely unique and easy to balance and control enabling the paddler to ultimately exhaust him or herself. The speed of the craft is comparable to any multisport boat whilst maintaining all qualities of a plastic Ski (strength, reliability). Overall I struggle to believe that any company will be able to match the quality, speed and high performance of this awesome plastic Racer. As it was rushed out of the oven straight into the Avon there are still a few refinements to be made before its release to the general public in the very near future……….
