Team SPIRIT cashes in at Finn Kayaks Coastal Challenge 2010 taking out 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Place!


The Coastal Challenge was the second race held on Sunday the 17th January from 'The Doctor' event held on January 16&17 in Perth WA – the first race on Saturday being the Surf Ski World Cup from Port Beach to Rottnest with no plastic category – just open class male and female. The Challenge on Sunday consisted of a two person team relay from Fremantle to Sorrento Beach and gained the attention of some very elite paddlers in the plastic class due to a very attractive prize pool, in fact the same value prize money for the plastic class as the open class.

The race started at 12pm from Fremantle and finished a couple of hours later at Sorrento Beach. The change-over was at City Beach involving a portage. Congratulations to Team SA – Chad Alston and Luke Morrison taking out first place in the plastic category, Mike Baker and Andrew Moselle - second place, Brodie Holmes and Alan Albert– third place and John Wilkie and Travis England – fourth place. Well done!
